My Goals with my Business
My business has been built on making and selling physical products at Anime Conventions and online. It’s never been a focus for me to be a pattern designer who regularly makes new designs to sell patterns for.
While selling patterns could be a nice form of passive income, I really enjoy the act of knitting and selling (especially at conventions).
My finished products have a different target market than my patterns would, and I’m not sure I’m ready to spend effort on focusing on two different groups of people.
Writing Patterns Takes a lot of Time
A few years ago , I actually did spend a lot of time (probably at least 10-20 hours) writing up a pattern for our paw gloves. It uh… wasn’t the best quality. I only sold 11 copies for $5 each ($55 for 10 hours of work???)
I do have a bit of a larger following now, but I still worry I won’t sell many copies. I’ve made an interest form that you can fill out though! If I get enough responses I’d love to try to incorporate knitting patterns into my business!
